The Deputy Commissioner ordered a fine of Rs 1 lakh and legal action under Section 19(1) of the KPME Act against KVG Dental College and Hospital in Sullia and Omega Hospital in Mangaluru for allegedly violating the provisions of the Act and related rules.

Officials were also directed to conduct an audit to ensure that all hospitals in Dakshina Kannada district had obtained the mandatory certificates from the Fire and Emergency Services Department and licences from the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board.
